Lexington, KY Luxury Bathroom With Custom Tile and Walk-In Shower

Custom luxury bathroom in Lexington, KY with an oversized walk-in shower, freestanding tub, custom tile, dual vanity, and brass fixtures.

A Custom Master Bathroom in a New Lexington Home

As this home was being built in Lexington's Walnut Grove Estates neighborhood, Stak Construction helped build out the master bathroom designed around custom finishes, detailed tile work, and a large, comfortable layout.

Rather than treating the bathroom as a purely functional part of the new home, the design uses custom tile patterns, warm metal finishes, and separate areas for bathing, showering, getting ready, and storage.

Designing a Master Bathroom From the Ground Up

Because this bathroom was completed during new construction, the layout and finishes were all planned out to blend together with the rest of the home’s design. Being a fully-customized luxury bathroom, the homeowners selected premium materials and customized the room around the way they wanted to use it.

The result is a large bathroom with separate areas that still feel connected and plenty of space to move around.

A Large Custom Walk-In Shower

The oversized walk-in shower is one of the bathroom’s main focal points. It’s not every day that a bathroom design incorporates a large window inside the shower. Paired with the frameless glass enclosure, it makes the space feel open and airy.

Our Stak team installed white tile throughout the shower walls, with sections arranged in a herringbone pattern to create subtle detail without adding another color to the space. The white shower is contrasted by a bold black, white, and gray geometric mosaic floor that gives off a 3D look.

The shower was built with a frameless glass enclosure and warm brass-toned hardware that ties into the other fixtures throughout the bathroom.

Inside, the shower includes a customized setup - two large showerheads, multiple body sprays, separate controls, a handheld shower fixture, recessed storage niches, and a built-in bench. Together, those features created a much more elevated shower experience.

Custom Tile Throughout the Bathroom

In every project we do, tile always plays a major role in connecting the entire design.

Large gray-and-white marble-look tile covers the bathroom floor, giving the room a bright, polished appearance. To give some added character to the space, we then installed a section of the same 3D mosaic tile used inside the shower directly into the main bathroom floor next to the vanity area.

That custom tile runner creates a visual connection between the shower and vanity areas and gives the otherwise neutral floor a distinct focal point.

The repeated black, white, and gray pattern adds contrast while keeping the different parts of the bathroom tied together and the homeowner absolutely loved how it turned out.

Double Vanity and Dedicated Makeup Area

The main vanity features dark cabinetry contrasted against a light grey stone countertop and backsplash. Two undermount sinks give the homeowners separate spaces, while drawers and cabinets provide plentiful storage.

Warm brass metal cabinet pulls, faucets, and wall sconces add another layer of contrast against the dark cabinetry.

Next to the double vanity, Stak built out a separate seated makeup vanity finished in white cabinetry with a matching stone surface and its own lighting. This gave the homeowners a dedicated area to get ready without sacrificing countertop space at either sink.

Freestanding Tub, Lighting, and Finishing Details

While the tub and shower area are their own focal points, a large gold-toned starburst chandelier stands out as a statement piece. Recessed ceiling lights and individual vanity sconces provide additional task and ambient lighting throughout the bathroom. Our team worked with the homeowners to make sure to pay attention to every detail and fully accommodate their lifestyle.

Crown molding, detailed door trim, coordinated brass-toned fixtures, built-in shelving, and carefully finished transitions complete the space.

The Finished Luxury Master Bathroom

The completed bathroom balances a mostly light, neutral palette with several strong design elements: the dark vanity, gold and brass accents, geometric mosaic tile, statement lighting, and detailed shower features.

Because Stak was involved while the house itself was being constructed, the bathroom could be built around the finished design from the beginning. Plumbing, tile, cabinetry, fixtures, glass, lighting, and finish details all work together in a cohesive way.

The result is a custom master bathroom designed to feel both luxurious and practical for their everyday use for years to come.
